This week marks the start of our Pirates topic! In Maths we made pirate treasure maps by using positional language and co-ordinates to find out where to put each of the landmarks. We followed instructions really well to create fantastic treasure maps!

Following instructions has also been really important in Literacy this week as we have been looking at Pirate Instructions. We looked at the features of a set of instructions and we hunted for ‘bossy’ verbs in the texts that we read. Over the last two days, we had a go at following the instructions to create pirate earrings, the ship’s rats, a pirate hat and a pirate drink. We weren’t so sure we wanted to be pirates after tasting the drink!
