Welcome back everyone. Hopefully, you’ve all had a fun and restful half term! For the last few weeks of the year, our topic is around the world. Each week we will be visiting a different country. Last week we prepared for our trip by making our own suitcases and passports to take with us. Already, Class 7 have got the travel bug and are planning holidays in our Travel Agents role play.
We are very lucky to have Miss Doe working with us at the moment. She has been able to use the computers with the children to practise their ICT skills, such as changing font and copying and pasting.
We have been looking at partitioning numbers to help us with our adding and this week, we are looking at how it can help us to subtract numbers. In Literacy, we looked at making some non-fiction texts. We had a go at researching our own facts by reading information books, looking at atlases and searching on the Internet. Class 7 made their own posters to persuade visitors to come to Great Britain!
This week, we are in China! Today, Class 7 began painting their own Chinese dragons, by mixing primary colours. We will be looking at the Willow Story in Literacy, thinking about story settings and later in the week, we will be making our very own Willow Pattern plates.
