Making Mechanisms

Posted by on 28/03/2013

Class 7 have been working hard over the last few works on creating their own toys. First, we looked at 2 types of mechanism –rotary and pull. We then chose one of these mechanisms and designed our own toy. We created equipment list to make sure we had everything we needed. Next, we assembled our toy, deciding how to decorate it and put the different parts together. Finally, we had a go at evaluating our work. We looked at what was tricky to do, what we liked or didn’t like and what we can do even better. Have a look at our fantastic Topic Wall with all the children’s toys and evaluations! There are also some pictures of the brilliant toys they have been making by themselves in our Role Play area.

World Book Day was a great success and we loved seeing everybody’s hats and talking about our favourite books and authors. We had lots of fun taking part in the different reading activities. Some of Class 2 came to visit us and some of us visited Class 2 to take part in the Reading Buddy Activity. It was great to share a book with the younger children! Take a look at us enjoying our World Book Day activities.
