Money, money, money

Last week, Class 7 were thinking more about Florence Nightingale. We used lots of different sources to research facts about the Lady with the Lamp, such as fact sheets, non-fiction texts, video clips and online resources. We practised our note taking skills and created a fact file about her life. In Friday’s Big Write, we imagined what it would be like to be Florence and wrote a diary entry from her perspective.

Linking to our Florence/Victorian theme, we looked at early photographs and had a go at creating our own sepia toned images by using yellow wash on black and white photos of ourselves.

Today marks the start of Money Week! Each class has been given £5 and has to try and make that money grow as much as they can. Class 7 had lots of great ideas and we have decided to sell milkshake at breaktime, have an open classroom at lunch and make lemonade and bookmarks to sell at Friday’s market.

Don’t forget, if you want to buy any of the wares on sale during Money Week to bring in no more than 30p a day!
