Shape hunters!

Posted by on 26/11/2013

Last week and this week Class 7 have been looking at the properties of 2D and 3D shapes in Maths. We tried hard to use the correct vocabulary when talking about shapes, such as sides, corners, equal, regular and right angles.

First, some of us went on a shape hunt around the school. We found lots of different 2D shapes such as circles, rectangles, triangles and squares. Why not take a look at some of the pictures we found? Can you work out which shape is in each picture?

We also made Angle Eaters – special monsters that can only eat right angles. We used them to decide which shapes had right angles. Class 7 loved their Angle Eaters so much, some people made some more to take home in Golden Time.

This week we will be looking at 3D shapes!
