Last week, Class 7 took a trip to China as part of our around the world topic! We did lots of research on China and found out about their traditions, such as Chinese New Year, some key facts (capital city, language) and some famous Chinese landmarks. We used these facts to create our own brochure all about China. We read the traditional Chinese tale ‘The Willow Story’ and looked at some Willow pattern plates. We then used those ideas in Art, to create our own Willow pattern plates based on traditional tales that we know such as Little Red Riding Hood. We designed our pattern in pencil and then traced over in the tradition blue colour. Class 7 worked hard to take their time, adding lots of detail to make their plates look really fantastic!
